Most Recent Updates Fail to Install

Please read the most recent content in this short thread.
I tried the suggestion offered by Tekkie Boy (21 Feb 2021.) One of the changes he proposed did not work
    fsutil resource setautoreset true %SystemDrive%\
Does anyone understand why he proposed these changes?
He has not posted anything since May. I tried a PM but have not heard anything.
    thanks

I successfully managed to install 20H2 , version 20H2 (Build 19042.804 but my update history tells me that since 02/09/21:
"Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 for x64 (KB4601050) failed to install."

On the 'generic' Windows update part of the history it also says:
"There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80071a91)"

I've attached some screen shots to clarify.

    Hello baumgrenze

Try to download and install it from here: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft...px?q=KB4601050

Make sure you download the correct version for your PC. The x64 20H2 version.

    Hello @baumgrenze

The error code 0x80071a91 means: Transaction support within the specified file system resource manager is not started or was shutdown due to an error.

    Please try the following:

Press the Windows button, type cmd and then select the option "Run as administrator".

In the Command prompt window execute the following commands one after the other:
    sc config trustedinstaller start=auto

    net start trustedinstaller

    fsutil resource setautoreset true %SystemDrive%\

    attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*

    echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*

    attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*

    echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.tm*

    echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.blf

    echo y | del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.regtrans-ms

If you get an error message with "net start trustedinstaller" and "fsutil resource setautoreset true %SystemDrive%" write it in your answer.

    Friendly greetings

    Many Thanks

    Vielen Danke, Tekkie Boy

Many apologies for allowing ~6 months to pass without responding.

I now see that my system is 'auto-updating' and failing to install the most recently found updates:

    Under Quality Updates
    2021-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5004237)
    Under Other Updates
2021-07 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB50004331)
    and
Update for Removal of Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems (KB457786)

I tried the CMD prompt suggestions and encountered the error that ends this dialog:

    I snipped these yesterday.
The 'Auto Trying' note means that whenever I turn this computer on, Windows Updates keeps trying and failing to download and install KB5004237
