Well, as with Windows XP through 8.1, I need WAY more information, and I need to decide IF I will allow an update.

I will check out that tool. I can also get any needed, good, updates from the MS Catalog site. But I will need to know what they are. Also, I will have to keep my updates OFF until they release an update that returns specialized choices for updates and/or shutting off WU without having to shut off the service. Shutting off the WU service also hoses the Store.

I'm pretty sure this update hosed me, after installing it, upon reboot, my screen kept flickering as if a bad display driver was installed. I could not input my password, because the screen would flicker and reset back to the Lockscreen. Even on the two occasions when I was able to enter my password, it would not log me in, going straight back to the lock screen. I need to avoid installing this or delete it somehow after Windows installs it for me.
I had this exact same issue, and after much irritation, this tool helped me bypass the update until some kind of official fix is released.

As my version is Windows 10 Home and there is no way of disabling automatic updates, and it keeps wanting to slam KB3081444 down my throat, I will be reverting to Win7 once my third system restore completes.

Ah, I did not realize that it wouldn't work on your system. Best of luck!

Windows Updates - Hide or Show in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

I tested it and the tool mentioned does indeed work with "Windows 10 Home". I was able to hide an update to prevent it from being automatically installed. I also tested the tools ability to restore that hidden update and the tool worked without issue. Good Luck!
