What's weird I uninstalled yesterday but it says it's still there and if I resume updates it will try to install again, it's already installed there some how. The 20H2 is there but paused too.
My indexing is fine now, but don't want that update to try to install again, so I paused it!

I have never used "Pause updates". The updates have not been installed automatically.
I was in the process of suggesting the same, it works for me. And yes, I had to quote your post Matthew.
One addition step I've taken besides the metered connection is to uncheck the automatically connect to this wifi network. It results in the requirement to manually connect after every restart but I've never heard of anyone complaining that their wifi network connected itself and then updated their Windows.
So the program finally found the updates, just check it and then hide? That's it?

Pausing is only going to be temporary.
You have Pro, so why not use a Pro feature? Set updates to Notify using the group policy editor, then you are notified of available updates, and can choose to apply them- or not.
Or, you can take complete control and use a utility to scan for and apply updates selectively if you wish.
E.g. that in Option 7 of the tutorial on disabling automatic updates.
This tutorial will provide directions to set your network connection as metered. This is the simplest tweak with likely the best results in taking control of Windows Updates.
As for Matthew's link, it's not too difficult to follow and there's lots of support here if you have any questions.
