    On the My Account icon in the upper right corner can you access My Products? lt should let you know what software you have registered with serial number etc.

    In Settings > About> Device Name have you tried adding that as your computer id in the box? As stated in post #2.

    Have you looked in Settings / System / About where you should see both "Device Name" and "Device ID"?
    I tried that, but no success. Perhaps I did wrong. But thanks for your effort.

    dekayd, When you say "Settings" --- where is this? Is it in Magix or desktop or system panel? Remember, I'm on Win7, not 10. I posted on TenForum because everybody has Ten now and likely don't hang out in SevenForums.

    I simply can't find the "Settings" you and Post#2 is referring too. I'm not a computer whiz unfortunately, sometimes I need more details. Sorry.

    Did this dialog work for "Computer ID" when you tried it on your PC? Maybe 10 and 7 are different in this regard? Can you show me the panel/screen where the "Settings" button you refer to?

    +++++++++++++ UPDATE ++++++++++++++++

    I got on the 10 computer. The dialog is Settings > System > About > Device ID or Product ID.

    The Win 7 and Win 10 are completely different in finding Computer ID.
    But thanks for your efforts!!!

    @garuda It's ok don't worry. I wasn't very clear and I thought you knew.
    I was referring to the "My Account" on the Magix website when you were registering the product. If you were able to get into your account it should say that you have Vegas Pro in My Products . There it should list your serial number and any other information.

    Go to Start. Type cmd and in command prompt type

    ipconfig /all

    Look for Physical Address that is the machine id.

    Try adding that number into computer id on the software.

    Maybe you can try and ask at their forum also:

    Thanks for your efforts. I've tried all these things with no success.
    Also there was some misunderstanding about how it's done in W10 vs. W7. Although they were good suggestions, they applied to 10 rather than Win7, which is why I got confused. I should have emphasized more that it's Windows 7.

    I fired up my W10 laptop and discovered you and post#10 were referring to 10. So as long as I had W10 pulled up to verify, I drew up a diagram of dialog for ONLY Windows 10.
