    Question about KB4023057

So KB 4023057 just downloaded for me and i noticed it was done i like 1 minute or less and it did not even require me to restart my PC. I did restart anyway just to be sure though.

I saw this was released back in 2020.

Anyone know why it only showed up now in WU ?

And why did it install so fast ? I mean it took like less than 1 minute and it didn't even ask me to restart for the changes to take effect. I only restarted because that's what i ussually do after every update.

    Hello Mikey,

A newer version of the update may have been released, but I don't see anything different in the release notes.

Brink thank you for the info !

I mostly wanted to know because the update took less than 1 minute and didn't even require a system restart, i wanted to know if perhaps it has any issues ?

That update is luckily just a quick servicing update that doesn't require a restart.

Ah ok. I thought it was strange that no restart was required but then again... the whole thing took less than 1 minute.

I didn't even knew WU downloaded it and when i clicked "Install Now" it basically installed in 10 seconds or less. Normally every update for me has asked me to restart my PC after installing but this one didn't so i went ahead and made 2 restarts anyway just to be sure.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. The KB4023057 just appeared and installed on my PC in less than a minute. I think it gets tweaked/updated by Microsoft and pushed out to Windows-10 users, every now and then. I see it referenced across the internet, dating back to 2018.

Thankfully, I can always count on coming to this forum for the REAL ANSWERS to almost every Windows problem or concern.

I blocked it today before M$ has any chance of installing it.
