WSUS: December cumulative update is expired without being superseded

    Hi,

The cumulative update for December has status "Expired" on our site. When it was released by Microsoft, it was successfully downloaded by WSUS and deployed to the clients. After a few days, it was set to expired and the deployment stopped. It has not been superseded and we have monitored our settings which has not been modified and it has worked for years without issue.

We are starting to think that this may be a bug, but we have not seen anything from Microsoft and we don't find anything when using Google.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong, or what we should do to troubleshoot this?

I can't say for certain that this is the reason, but there is apparently a rather bad bug where running "chkdsk /f" on a system with an SSD can corrupt the data on the SSD.

EDIT: I just check the Microsoft Update Catalog and the update is still available there, so it's probably something completely different. I should have done that before posting my response. Still, it's good to be aware of that issue.
