    updated fail

when my win 10 pro goes through update it comes back and says "we couldn't complete the updates. Don't turn off computer. Undoing changes. " It takes a long time and is frustrating. It has happened two times in a row. Virus protection says there are no threats. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Run setupdiag:
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...rade/setupdiag

Uninstall 3rd party AV, firewall, and drive encryption.
Make sure Windows defender is on.

when my win 10 pro goes through update it comes back
Which update or upgrade is being attempted? (See Update History).

How much free space do you have on C: ?

Post a screenshot of your partitions using a 3rd party (free) partition manager - not Disk Management thus:
    updated fail-screenshot-.png

When was the last time Windows Update ran normally? Have you used any method to disable it?

What is the model of your laptop?

    Hello @macstl,

    System Specifications

Please update your system specifications [ system AND hardware ] by editing your profile . . .

    > How to Fill in your System Specs at Ten Forums.

To make this process easier for you, there is an automated method that you can use by clicking the Download button at the top of the Tutorial. It contains a standalone .exe file delivered in a ZIP file. You just need to unzip the file and run the SystemInfo.exe file. As this file is a standalone file, there is nothing saved to your computer.

It will help us to help you!

    Thanks.

    upgrade failure zip file

    see attachment

    - - - Updated - - -

I ran win 10 troubleshooter and selected upgrade problems. It found nothing wrong.
I ran tuneup.bat . I tried to copy and paste when it finished. but had problems and lost the cmd screen in the process.
I tried update but still no go, it uninstalls itself after 100% install and says = we couldn't complete the update.

The last good update was on 11/20/2020 and it was ver 1909 but KB 4023057

I recently was going to dual boot to android 9 but decided I did not want to risk partitioning but I some how ended up with a grub boot and no windows selection. I got back windows boot by using fix mbr program. Can this have something to do with the unable to update issue?

I did a google search and found Windows 10 1909 Cumulative update KB4592449 failed to install (November 2019 update)
I am trying some things suggested there.

    Again from post #5 please..

How much free space do you have on C: ?
Post a screenshot of your partitions using a 3rd party (free) partition manager - not Disk Management - like this:
    updated fail-1.png

Given your setuperr.log, from an admin command prompt run
    reagentc /info
and post a screenshot of the result.

Your previous screenshot says you only have 2 partitions. Do you believe you have a UEFI or a MBR based installation? It would seem it must be MBR - is that correct?

Basics: please check your disk- it's an older laptop and disk.
E.g. Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - there's a portable version- best instant comment.
Else just SMART params- Crystal Diskinfo (free).

Then from an admin command prompt run
    chkdsk c: /scan

    If ok use this:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

I have MBR with 2 partitions and lots of free space.
I did a screen shot of third party partition using windows key + printscreen (it dimmed while copying)
I press con't V here and nothing happens what am i doing wrong?
