    Windows became deactivated.

Hello, my Windows 10 Home PC has been deactivated and the troubleshooter gives the error 0x8007005. Even after a reboot. It has always been activated before. It came with Windows Eight and was upgraded to windows 10 during the free upgrade period. How can I fix this activation error?

In command prompt with admin privileges or powershell with admin privileges:

    slmgr /ipk YTMG3-N6DKC-DKB77-7M9GH-8HVX7
    slmgr /ato

The first command installs the correct generic Windows 10 Home product key that should have been used for the Windows 8 to 10 upgrade.
The second command initiates online activation (you have to be connected to the internet).
Please post the result of the second command.

Are you logged into the computer with an Administrator account?

Try pressing Win + R to open a run dialog box. Run: regedit
    Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Double click on the DisallowRun key and if it's value is 1 change it to 0. Then try the commands again.

The bad news is that it may have been a virus or malware that caused it.

Well, I'll run Malwarebytes and a bunch of other portable scanners then. Reputable ones of course.
