    Am I missing security updates?

I have version 2004, OS build 19041.631, so am I fine for now?

Windows Update simply wouldn't offer and install updates that are in between that are security updates, except for Flash!

Just worried about critical updates that came before 19041.631.

I did install KB4586864 before that, but had to via a cab. (before installing the " '.631 update ")

This stunt was pulled on system-number-one, on November 7, 2020 and WU decided to install 2004 and only a Flash update!

Updates are cumulative. As you have almost the latest, you have everything in what went before.

This is what's at the head of the News section- have a look there.

Thank you. That's what I thought some days ago. I had to make my own changes to work around the unexpected update-to-2004-stunt.

Will there really be zero updates for all of December, and Windows Update stop offering any during that month?!
(Which means Windows Update silently fails to update on new installs?)

Well, who knows what Santa may bring? On the other hand, you can block the chimney and stop anything arriving in one of the various ways often described.

There should still be the usual 'Patch Tuesday' cumulative update with new security fixes on 8th December. What Microsoft have said is that there will be none of their additional preview updates for the month of December. These are the ones that would occasionally appear in Windows Update as 'optional'.

    Microsoft said:
Because of minimal operations during the holidays and the upcoming Western new year, there won’t be any preview releases for the month of December 2020.
