Hi, history, please: (so often omitted):
    - how long has this been so?
    - what happened before you had this problem?
    - have you ever disabled Windows Update?

This error number can indicate a failure to connect to MS's update servers. A few have found that sometimes you just need to wait a while and it starts working again.

Have you been using a VPN?

First run the Windows Update Troubleshooter and post a screenshot of the result thus:
Error 0x8024401c Windows store and windows update-screenshot-.png

    If that doesn't help try
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

Then, if still problems, assuming your disk is ok, the simplest approach is to do an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data. This requires you to use an iso file of the same major build as you have installed. However, like so many, you have not followed the tenforums instruction:
Error 0x8024401c Windows store and windows update-win-10-version.png
This is vital to know for you to get the right one.

    Thanks for your help!
I have this problem for months. I tried to get a solution for it but I couldn't get any solution.
As you advise me I run the windows updates troubleshooting and I got this.
Error 0x8024401c Windows store and windows update-windows-update.jpg
After that, I search for the updates, unfortunately, I still have the same problem.
Error 0x8024401c Windows store and windows update-windows-update-2.jpg
    Note:-
I got the same code error when I wanted to update my Apps through the windows store.

Hi, I gave you a number of other steps to follow. That's just the first preliminary one.

I also asked a number of questions.

What does the troubleshooter detailed view say?

The more information you give, the better you respond, the better and faster help you get.

I had this problem a few months ago.

I paused installing the windows update and sometimes I stopped them from windows services because the updates consume the Internet bandwidth.

The troubleshooter showed me the message in the screenshot above.

I use vbn program from time to time

I've reset windows updates before but the problem wasn't solved.

    Thank you for your reply.

Precisely by what means did you do that? There are many available. There are reliable and reversible ones which have been mentioned here many many times. Some people try to hack Windows Update themselves.
    Have you reversed those changes?

VPN: check this is either removed or completely ineffective.
    Check settings here:

The troubleshooter showed me the message in the screenshot above.
I asked specifically about the detailed information:
Error 0x8024401c Windows store and windows update-1.png

Can you see where it says View detailed... in blue? Click that, post a screenshot.

I've reset windows updates before but the problem wasn't solved.
And in particular, did you use that particular tutorial? If not, please do so.
Why do I ask? Because other instructions are posted on the internet.

Do you have any other Windows devices using the same router? If so, do they update successfully?

Tweaking.com's free repair tool also has a repair for Windows Update. You can try that, following the preparatory steps, and select only the relevant repair.

And I still await your full Windows build number - see above.

    Thanks.

I did that by type a command services.msc on the run box.

    I don't have any.

And in particular, did you use that particular tutorial? If not, please do so.

actually, while I was looking for a solution a few weeks ago I found this tutorial in the forum but it doesn't work.
When I restart Windows after following the tutorial it keeps showing me a blue screen.

I hope you could, please, use Anydesk or any other remote desktop app to fix the problem yourself.

That's very strange and suggests something significant is wrong.

I still don't know your full build number.

I suggest you first check your disks just to be sure before the next step.

Try Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) - gives the best instant commentary I know. SSDs too.
Else just SMART params- Crystal Diskinfo (free).

    If ok then run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    from an admin command prompt.

If ok, then you need an iso file of the same major build as you have. I still don't know your build, so can't advise on getting that. There is a tutorial on obtaining a Win 10 iso file.

Then log in, make sure you have at least 30Gb free on C: , uninstall any unusual security software, rt click and Mount the iso file, browse the new drive letter created and run setup.exe to start an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data.

Ok, unless you already have either an iso or bootable disk for 1909, you can download an iso file using the Heidoc iso downloader (free, Google it) which downloads them from MS.
