    Can't fix WU Error

I have tried all the suggestions but cannot fix WU.

I get error 0x8007000d when I try to install the suggested updates. I finally got the .NET update to install but none of the cumulative updates will. They all error with that code.

    Hi, first
    Can't fix WU Error-win-10-version.png

What are 'all of the suggestions'? If you have tried them all, presumably there's nothing left and whatever I suggest you'll have tried. So, in no particular order- feel free to choose:

Do you have a disk image you can restore that you've previously created? The routine and regular use of disk imaging is recommended tirelessly- so you can recover from otherwise uncorrectable problems. Do you use it?

E.g. Macrium Reflect (free- paid) + large enough external storage for image files.

Otherwise, have you tried an in-place upgrade repair install? You wold need an iso file of the same major build you have installed, whatever that may be. Tutorial available.

Tweaking.com's free repair tool (Google) offers a suitable repair. Try selecting only relevant repairs, following the preparatory steps.

    Basics: have you
    - checked your disk? E.g. Hard Disk Sentinel, trial? Crystal Diskinfo (free)?
    - if ok run
    chkdsk c: /scan
from an admin command or Powershell prompt?
    - if ok, similarly run
    sfc /scannow?

    Have you done this:
Reset Windows Update in Windows 10
    and run the troubleshooter?

Yes to all the typical WU fixes, reset WU, run SFC, DISM, etc. Have not done chkdsk.

I don't have Macrium and I prefer not to run third party tools. So yes I have done the usual suggestions.

    SFC
    DISM
    Reset WU

    - checked your disk? E.g. Hard Disk Sentinel, trial? Crystal Diskinfo (free)? Don't have this
    - if ok run
chkdsk c: /scan Not run, see above.
from an admin command or Powershell prompt?
    - if ok, similarly run
    sfc /scannow? Ran, no errors.
As I said, everything but CHKDSK which in my research doesn't seem related to this. This seems to be a missing or corrupt file. And since SFC or DISM did not fix it I am at a loss of what to do next.

Very well, let me ask you specifically items you have not commented on from my first post.

Have you done an in-place upgrade repair install? Y/N
Have you tried using the Tweaking.com repair tool? Y/N
Have you run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, and if so, what was the outcome? ('didn't help' says nothing- some say that).

Not using disk imaging leaves you open to having to perform a clean install should
    - your system be unrepairable/unbootable
    - your disk fail
    - your PC be stolen

Have you done an in-place upgrade repair install? Y/N Y. Just completed. It did install 20H2 successfully.
Have you tried using the Tweaking.com repair tool? Y/N N. As mentioned I prefer to avoid 3rd party. I tried one and my computer wouldn't boot. I had to do a sys restore.
Have you run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, and if so, what was the outcome? ('didn't help' says nothing- some say that). Y Numerous times. I don't think it ever fixed anything specific. It certainly didn't resolve the problem.

I answered above. I just completed the in place upgrade to 20H2. No idea if it has fixed the issue.

Since you are still here asking for help, and you don't know what to do next, it seems following all of the advice given would be the wise thing.
