Since you are still here asking for help, and you don't know what to do next, it seems following all of the advice given would be the wise thing.
Pretty sure I have. I followed EVERY suggestion for fixing WU that was posted in reply to a previous post. CHKDSK was never posted until now iirc and my research said it wasn't necessary. I suppose its all moot as I did an in-place upgrade.

No offense meant but you do realize that most people are not computer experts yet they are talked to here as if they are. I have maintained all my computers pretty well for 20+ years. This is really a first in terms of ongoing WU problem and I DID follow the suggestions provided here yet nothing worked.

    Except running CHKDSK...

Not all "research" is thorough, accurate, or completely understood.

So if you've maintained your computers pretty well for 20+ years, no one was likely talking over your head in this thread.

Since it's now "moot", simply mark your issue solved, and you're done.

Again, no offense but I said why I hadn't run CHKDSK. It was just suggested a few hours ago and based on my research I opted for the in-place upgrade.

And I don't know if the issue is solved.

Delete everything in this folder, and try again. It saved me many times in the past.

Now that you have at last mentioned you have build 20H2 (many things are build dependent, which is why the forum prompts you to give this information as per screenshot in my first post) please note there is a technical problem in performing an in-place upgrade repair with this build.
