When a feature update is done installing, does it automatically check for updates, or does it wait until the regular time that it checks for them? Like say, I was done installing it at midnight would it check for updates then even though it already checked for them at like 3 pm?
The ones I've done Version Upgrades on did have a blue information screen that said it was checking for updates and when necessary was installing them.
What kind of updates were those? Because I remember when I was done installing 1909 I tried the defer update feature. But then turned it off a couple of minutes later to see what it was like. I think that it downloaded a net framework update and I think a driver or something update. For some reason I can't check to see what those updates were because they don't show up in my update history.
It only downloaded the updates after I turned off the defer updates feature. But I don't think that it was downloading any before then.
You probably don't want the Patch Tuesday updates right away.
We usually wait at least 2 weeks or so for any smoke to clear before installing them.
However, if there is a zero-day that is being exploited in the wild, we install those within a day or so of release.
They have caused some systems not to function properly.
It's been an ongoing issue for years.
Thus the delay in installing them.
We've managed to avoid most of those issues as a result.
