I cannot update my windows 10 pro v2004 (OS build 19041.508)I received the error message code 0x80070424, I tried the trouble shooter but it did not help tried also to install the update manually the same error message appeared.
How do you solve that?
A number of people who have encountered update errors like that have found the only way forward seems to be an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data. (Tutorial available).
You could of course try

Is there manual steps to do than running the bat file? as I have tried several methods and trying to localize what has happened.
Just run the bat file. If you want to see what it does, simply edit it. Similar manual steps are posted in many places.
Having them in that saves time and makes it more reliable. But there's not guarantee using it will solve your particular problem, and if it doesn't, you'll learn nothing particular about what happened to your PC.
Yes I have tried the several steps to resolve this error all did not resolve, I noted the wuauserv is missing in the registry file and the windows update is missing in the services.msc.

Well, do you think Brink, a site admin, would have posted it there if it wasn't? And if you care to search the forum you will find it has been used time and again.
But I suspect, assuming your disk and file system are ok (Crystal Diskinfo, chkdsk c: /scan, SFC /SCANNOW.... if you care to use those), you will end up as I suggested doing an in-place upgrade repair install.

Others have tried several times, no changes, also manual resetting and some tweaking software all said successfully repaired but it is not.
Not yet tried the reg file from Brink (Windows update) is it recommended to use before or instead of the bat file?
Depending on the state of your disk, you should be getting ready to replace it. For a great informative report the best is Hard Disk Sentinel (trial). SSDs too.
I don't know to which reg. file you're referring. Again just run the bat file and try, but I don't think it will help here. Just seen a similar post where the user had tried that and more.
Seems sad 2004 updates can lead to this for some users.
