Now that is a very interesting statement. Does that imply that you have set Quality Updates to be deferred for 15 days? Have you also deferred Feature Updates? If so, by how much?

It has been seen in the past that there is some interaction between setting a defer time and the the ability of Windows Update to find and offer the C/D cumulative updates. For example, this in version 1803...

It has also been seen that in Pro the 'Defer Features Updates' settings seem to interfere with checking for a 'Quality Update' such as these C/D ones. So if you don't see the update in Pro and have deferred Features Updates try temporarily setting it to zero days.
    Cumulative Update KB4458469 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.320 Sept. 26 - post #80

Now that MS have significantly changed how Windows Update handles optional updates (the C/D CUs and Feature Updates are now optional for both Home and Pro) it's not inconceivable that that this interaction 'quirk' has changed too.

Couldn't get to it until today, resumed Windows Update on the Dell and ASRock systems. Each got only 2020-10 updates for 1909. There was an optional 1909 preview available as well, passed on that as I usually do.

Still no 2004 (20H1) updates available for either; no "2004 on it's way" messages.

Paused to 11/30 for the 2020-11 updates...

To save my life I can't figure out why the Quick Reply or Reply to Thread insist upon getting stuffed into my post instead of invoking a new post, like Bree's #11 as a #13 for the following:

In Advanced options, Pause updates is where I set Pause until to a future date. Usually a week before the next Bork Tuesday so as to allow the vast global community three weeks to test 'em for me as well as reading up on the Borks.

In Choose when updates are installed, feature and quality been at zero from the get go.

The ASRock started out as 1909 when I built the system in February.

The Dell got it's feature updates just fine to 1909 ever since it got put into service in August, 2016. Whatever that was back then.

(As I poster earlier, the E8400, circa 2008, system that started out in October, 2014 with the Insider Program Tech Preview Win10 Pro, on the Slow Ring for a couple of years, got its 2004 on October 8, no 20H1 as of yet.)

Just got done wrapping up a few things on the Dell and decided to check Windows Updates and lo and behold...

    Hope at last!!

    Still nada for the ASRock...

Microsoft's compatibility telemetry has at least gotten better since the first builds. I was on 1607 and never got offered 1703 or 1709, until at the end of 1607's support I had to use Upgrade Assistant to get 1709.

Now I get the notifications on settings/update about available upgrades almost as soon as they get released.

When OTOH, I was *happy* with 1909, when I was using my Crucial MX500 500 GB SSD on my MSI B450 Tomahawk system, with BIOS version 1E and a Ryzen 7 3700X, when Windows Update, suddenly installed 2004 *without my permission* on November 7, 2020, IIRC!
That SSD, was first used on January 3, 2020 and Windows 10 was installed on that SSD on the same date, so only a bit before you.

I'm surprised that Windows doesn't automatically update computers into builds that are already out of support

That's a frightening thought. There's the real possibility of people's PC getting bricked due to hardware incompatibilities.

That sounds like a possibility with new hardware, and so could it happen even with old hardware that's using new drivers...?
