Is this a computer problem or update problem?

In my attempt to get the Sept. 8th update, I made sure my connection was not metered, and then I clicked on Settings, and then Update and Security. When I clicked on "Check for Updates", there were 2 things shown:

KB4565351 is "Pending Download" (even though it never does)

AND....

"Feature Update to Windows 10 Version 2004, Update Status Unknown"

I've been reading that others have been having trouble with the latest update, but usually were able to download it first. Is Microsoft putting a stop to downloads until they resolve the issues? That would help explain why my laptop isn't downloading it.

KB4565351 CU Win 10 v1903 build 18362.1016 and v1909 build 18363.1016

- suggests you are using either 1903 or 1909.

Setp 8th update: e.g.
KB4571756 Cumulative Update Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.508 - Sept. 8

- is for build 2004.

Hence your current build number (unspecified) is significant.

The forum prompted you for your full Windows build number so we don't have to keep asking ....? Thanks.

Pending Download

- MS sometimes has server problems; it also sounds as if you have been using an older and more trivial method to try to block Windows Update.

Sometimes that may simply need patience, or try again.

There seem very few references to your last error message.
