wushowhide.diagcab does not work on Windows 10 HOME version 2004

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8210 printer that tries to re-install the USB driver every few days, even though it is already working properly. I wish to use wushowhide.diagcab to hide the update since it is not needed. Previously this hide program worked, now it does not, after installing version 2004. Instead of hiding the update, the wushowhide program appears to try to repair it. I don't want to repair it, I want to hide it, as before.

Click Advanced, then uncheck Apply repairs automatically:

Try using Windows Update MiniTool to hide the driver as shown below:

thanks, I tried rerunning wushowhide and used the Advanced option. It is not clear whether this worked or not, will post again in a few days when, or if, the driver tries to re-install itself.

Received another Windows update request for this same driver. I tried the following:
- run wushowhide.diagcab
- click on Advanced
- deselect "Apply repairs automatically"
- click "Next"
- click "Hide Updates"
- select the driver "Hewlett-Packard USB"
- click "Next"
- keep "Hide updates" selected
- get a message "verifying fix"
- get a message saying the driver is fixed. However, I did not want to fix it. I wanted to hide it.
- close the dialog
- reopen wushowhide.diagcab to find the driver is still present, as before. It will re-install it for the third time next time I run updates.

- I have already tried the method called:
"To Turn On or Off Automatic Device Driver Installation in Device Installation Settings (using Control Panel->Devices->Device Installation Settings)"
This method does not work.

- there is also a method involving setting Group Policy settings, but I believe that will not work on HOME edition, which I have.
- there is also a method involving modifying the registry to disable this particular driver, but I am reluctant to do that. The last time I tried to manually override the automatic updates in Windows, the results were not pretty, so I don't want to go there again.
- there is also the method using the update MiniTool as suggested by Matthew Wai, but I gather that this is not a Microsoft product so I am reluctant to install it.

- the point is that wushowhide.diagcab used to work perfectly, for the last eight months or so. So I think I will just live with the problem until Microsoft fixes it themselves. Thanks for your suggestions.

It works fine for everyone else. Are you signed in as an administrator?

yes, I am signed on as an administrator. When I check my account it says
my name
Local Account
Administrator

I have also run wushowhide from DOS by starting DOS as an administrator, but that does not seem to make any difference.

Windows Update MiniTool is a portable app. No installation is needed.
