    If the PC is running, which it wasn't in this instance, I use the product key vbs script and copy it to Notepad.
    I'm sure you all have this vbs script

    Actually no, I don't. For extracting the key from any system, running or not, I use ShowKeyPlus.

    As long as you can access the drive where Windows is installed (say, by putting it in a usb enclosure) you can use its 'Retrieve key' option. Useful for getting the key from a system that won't boot.

I completed upgrading to 10. Here is a pic of the activation status 26499 So Now If I clean install this, It should be activated on its own and I don't have to enter any key rite?
Hi there anybody else got this -- trying to personalize PC -got you need to activate windows before you can personalize PC. Now what do I do !!!!!?! Is this normal (I did an UPDATE rather than a new install BTW). Cheers
