Have you noticed the date of that article? 2016.

And when did build 2004 come out?

The article has nothing to do with the trim issue in build 2004. See my previous post, thanks.

From Build 1909 you must opt in to a feature update, until end of service life of your current build.

Thanks for your help. I did not notice the 2016 date. Talk about fine print!!

But, it actually does work with my 1909 version.

Anyway, I prefer the more recent youtube video that you listed.

BUT, if I have to opt in, that's great. I see no reason to do so at this time. Why should I screw with my excellent SSD?
Also, I have an older Epson printer and I've been reading about old printer issues with 2004. Has that been resolved?

I have opted in. TBH there's nothing significantly new in 2004. Your 1909 is in full support until May 2021 so there's certainly no reason to rush in....

Yes, that was resolved on 18th June.

I'm not in yet for v.2004 and have my Home Edition updates paused until 10/15/2020. I did the pause using the WU pause functions. My system still has the message that v.2004 is on it's way, but my system is not eligible for it yet. WU tried to force v1909 on my system twice with errors, so I'm reluctant to let them do updates without my OK. I know MS said they wouldn't try to force FUs again, but I'm still wary. Yes, I do system images, but if it ain't broke, I don't want MS to fix it.

The answer to your question is NO.

Windows 10 Home, After 54 days mine is still showing the manual update option. I have not even set any pause/delay (up to 35 days) in the advanced options either.
Only went back to 1909 due to an Optical drive problem, which I think is now solved, but no feedback from MS at all, submitted twice 2 months ago.

SSDs have an internal controller, it does not matter about minor points about Windows optimisation instructions. The real work is done by the internal SSD controller.

No idea why people are going off at a tangent all the time.

Every version of Windows, and indeed any OS, over the last 30 years has had issues, it is not going to change.

I'm running Home, Pro and the Insider Preview Dev Pro versions, not being forced. Only thing I'm seeing, and it has been mentioned, a couple of my AMD Desktops are not yet being offered the Version 2004 Upgrade.
