Is there any way to prevent automatic driver updates?

Hey,
is there any way to prevent automatic driver updates in Windows 10, except disconnecting internet? But than, after you enable it, still other drivers/software components install automatically and prompt from mouse drivers keeps popping up from time to time, i don't want to use them... I tried regedit/gpedit and everything i found. Nothing worked so far... I know about 1 thing, you can block driver installation, if you put driver id to gpedit. But that isn't solution for everything...

I have used Windows Update MiniTool to hide all unwanted drivers.

I cannot do so because I use Windows 10 Home. Fortunately, I need not do so.

There was a TF thread in the last 12 months where the success of the steps in these tutorials was limited.
If you can search for this thread there will be additional information.

I already tried all of this, except 2 regedit entries and it didn't work. I don't think there is any solution to this at all. Even one utility called ddu: has some button to disable automatic driver updates. So after it uninstalls nvidia drivers for you, microsoft pre-installed drivers won't automatically install. But even that doesn't work - not sure.Because they recommend: just to yank the ethernet cable I thought maybe some power user would have perhaps solution. But it seems, there is no way... Except:

I know about entry, that can block driver installation called: "prevent installation drivers matching this id". But that works only, if you don't won't any driver installed, because if you keep it enabled. You won't be able to install your driver than, it will block the installation!

I can't post feedback, i don't have feedback hub LOL. Not that microsoft would care anyways...

There are non-Microsoft drivers that are installed during a clean install.
Which driver is problematic?

Could you please clarify the statement above? It would appear that you're attempting to disable automatic driver updates yet you have not tried option 2 here, is that correct?

If you have concerns about tweaking the registry, just create a backup copy first and use the automatic file listed in Brink's tutorial. I can post directions on exporting the registry files, if you would feel more comfortable with the process.

I'm not positive if I changed that registry setting myself or if it was set as a result of installing Matthew Wau's tweak to disable Windows update.

Regardless, the DWORD PreventDeviceMetaDataFromNetwork on my pc is set to 0 and as far as I know, the only driver updates I've received since are the ones I accepted from wumt.
