Windows 10 home: auto driver update issues

Hello,

I am currently having a seamingly unsolvable problem with windows updates.

Every time there is an update windows decides to overwrite my drivers even tho i have spacificly said not to.

I have tried every posible solution online but to no avail.
So far i have tried:
Disabling driver updates in control panel (does nothing)
Adding a register key called ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate and seting it to 1 (nothing)
Disabling updates all together via regedit (still updated itself after a week)

What i have not tried is adding a group policy rule because i am runing home edition which does not have that feature.

What else can i do to make sure the next update wont overwrite the driver again? No matter what i do microsoft just does its own thing anyway... Why even give me the option if it does absolutly nothing?

Hi, there are also these options. These and the above normally work.

Consider that some driver updates are not delivered directly by Windows Update. You have not said which concern you.

For further control consider not using Windows Update but a 3rd party utility where you take control - such as Sledgehammer (free) - or Option 7:

thank you for your help, but i have alrady tried all of these methods. I can not change the local group policy since the pc in question is runing win10 home which doesnt have it. The driver windows tried to update is the audio driver, which only works with the motherbaords realtek driver you get from their website.

Try Using CMD script and VBScript to control Windows Update
It works on my Windows 10 Home.

Something odd with your system I suspect.

Have you really tried these? Have you downloaded and installed Sledgehammer?

And have you REALLY read the tutorials? For example this is not just for Pro:

My Home edition does not have it either, but no drivers have been installed automatically. Unwanted drivers have been hidden via Windows Update MiniTool as shown below.
