Answer to question #1 is that Microsoft usually updates the ISO file that the Media Creation Tool creates once in between the semi-annual major upgrades. So about 2 months from now they will update it, probably.

The answer to question #2 is:
Known and Resolved issues for Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 2004

    Navy,

As always, thanks for the useful info. I just looked at this list of issues. Is it reasonable to assume that microsoft issues patches to fix bugs before the update the actual ISO? So if I wait say 30 days from now to do the actual upgrades, there would be a bunch of patches available for installation once the upgrade is completed?

Win update prompts to update to 2004, update not possible

    win update behaves erratically.
    Win 1909 clean install.
win updated to point where I'm prompted to update to 2004

    1, tried with win update
    settings > system > info: Version 1909
    2. tried with iso created by Media Creation Tool
    settings > system > info: Version 1909
    3. tried with downloades iso
    settings > system > info: Version 1909

    tried search for updates
    answer: you're up to date
    prompt for 2004 missing

I shall wait a few months as proposed and not mark this thread as solved
If someone has an idea please let me know

    thanks so far
