Contually Reinstalls Service Pack 2 for Office 2010 (KB2687455)

I used to have Offce 2010 (many years ago), and have upgrade through various versions of office since. I believe I've uninstalled all Office 2010 components. I currently run Microsoft 365 for enterprise.

Unfortunately, every few days windows update reports that is "successfully" installed Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455) 64-Bit Edition.

It just keeps doing it forever. Is there any way to stop this from happening? (See screenshot)

There must be some remnant of 2010 present.

I have not used the tool before. I would for sure Image my system before running to allow you to restore should you have to.

Are you using an Imaging tool?

Thanks - yes I had noticed that tool, when I ran it, it detected my Microsoft 365 installation and offered to uninstall it. It didn't mention any previous office versions, so I didn't proceed with it. Maybe I need to do that then run it again and see if it picks up Office 2010...

As has been suggested above, IMAGE before you do that. It will save having to possibly re-install as you can restore the image back in next to no time. I can't stress the importance of this enough!

Yes Image before.

This might be a little radical. Run the tool and remove everything and then reinstall 365.

OK - I haven't done the full reinstall etc., however I did find this tool, the "Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter, which allows you to stop windows updating specific things. I've told it not to install that specific update and it seems to have done the trick.
