Thanks. I just did a bit of a glance at your links, and see that. It appears the video in the link is different, as it talks about running Setup/Reset this PC. Tomorrow, I'll ignore the video and follow the instructions. They seem pretty straight forward.
The video discusses other options before discussing an in place upgrade repair.
You will NOT be performing at this time:
reset save files:
Reset Windows 10
reset remove files:
Reset Windows 10
refresh:
Refresh Windows 10
custom install:
Custom Install Windows 10
clean install:
Clean Install Windows 10
Instead you will perform an in place upgrade repair:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
There are two methods:
a) download a Windows 10 iso to the desktop
b) create a bootable windows 10 iso
The advantage of downloading to the desktop is not having to find a flash drive that can be formatted (> or = 8 GB).
The advantage of creating a bootable Windows 10 iso is the Windows Recovery Environment (RE).
The Windows RE has options to perform startup repair, system restore, running command prompt commands, etc.
When an in place upgrade repair is performed you will open windows explorer then identify the flash drive and click on to identify and launch setup or setup.exe
Then you will follow the text and images in the tutorial.
The aim of the in place upgrade repair is to fix any restorehealth and scannow problems.
All is fine with update now. I have done the in-place update, and have since installed all Windows Updates, with no issues.
