windows 10 2004 update confusion.. please help

i found it odd that windows update is NOT even telling me " “The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. We’re offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn’t quite ready for it. Once your device is ready, you’ll see the update available on this page [Windows Update]. There’s nothing you need to do at this time....

strange if you ask me, i don't know why nothing is showing up when i check for updates.

Happens every major update. Over the next few weeks there will be dozens of posts from people asking why the update isn't showing up in Windows Update.

This has always been the way of a new rollout. It starts slowly, only offering to a few machines at first. Of my six, two saw it offered on day one, the other four have not seen it at all.

Why, what`s the big deal, 1909 works great, no reason to update to 2004 yet.

And when you do update, DO NOT use the windows update method.

Download the 2004 Iso file, save it to your downloads folder, Then, Create a Windows 10 2004 Folder. Put the Media Creation Tool and the Windows 10 2004 Iso file in that folder
But please give it another 3 or 4 months before installing 2004.

When you are ready to update, just open the Iso file with windows explorer and click on setup, the install will begin.

Bet wait at least a few months go by, before you install W10 2004.

Well, you can if you like, but be prepared for it to take at least twice as long as using the ISO. I used Windows Update, just to test how long it takes.

How long does the 2004 upgrade take using Windows Update?

Yes, there's really nothing dramatically new in 2004 so there's no point in rushing into it.

What I would say though is that I wouldn't recommend trying the ISO until you have seen 2004 offered in Windows Update. There may be a good reason it's not being offered yet. Microsoft put a block on offering it to machines that have known blocking issues. They will not lift the block until they have resolved those issues.

Yep everyone is trying to update using the Update method, so yes it will take longer.

Personally, I have both the 2004 Iso and MCT saved on both my PC`s.

Won`t even consider updating for 5 or 6 months.

    Hi,
    No big deal
Just create a system image to a removable hdd or ssd and use the media creation tool for the iso as said.
If you don't like it restore the system image.
I restored back to 1909 no big deal just early bugs.
