    Computer won't install updates

    Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to install Microsoft Edge. When I click on "install" it says first check for updates. When I click on that in the security settings it just keeps running saying "checking for updates." Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi Ken,
Thanks for your reply. I'm having trouble following the instructions. Which of the seven options do I choose in part 3?
    Thanks.

Right click the folder and select properties. Under general tab tick the unblock box.

    Good Afternoon,
Thank you both for trying to help but I can't seem to do it. It's saying "access denied" and click below to sign in as administrator. Nothing happens when I click on the icon. I guess I'll have to bring it to the local computer store.
    Thanks again,
    Andy

Sorry, what is saying access denied?

If it just one of the steps after the bat file kicks off just ignore that.

    Try doing updates again.

Thanks to all who helped me. I found Windows Update Assistant, clicked on it, and it took three hours to download but seemed to have worked. I then downloaded edge following the prompts and I think I now have that browser because it ended with welcome to Microsoft Edge.
How do you tell which browser you have? When I went to You Tube, which first alerted me to download new browser, it is still saying my current browser will not be supported much longer and download Chrome, Edge or some others I don't remember.
    Thanks Once Again,
    Andy

Sorry just saw the Edge icon on the bottom of my screen next to the Internet Explorer icon. When I opened Edge and went to You Tube everything was fine. My next question is how do I get Edge to open to my previous My Yahoo home page where all my stuff is, favorites, feeds, etc.?
    Thanks once again to all.

    Hi Ken,
I can't get to the startup on the left side of edge when I open it. It says to widen the horizontal but I don't know how.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Could you post screen shot. Watch you don't expose confidential information like email address.

Any chance you have it zoomed or are you scaling your display to make things bigger. Should be scroll bar along bottom I would think.

To get to zero zoom, crtl+0
