    Activate Windows - error code 0xC0020036


    I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 10 several years ago on Asus T100ta. Original installation was digitally signed and legit. Suddenly last week I get a message "Activate Windows Go to Settings to activate Windows." This appears on every screen. Very disturbing when reading a ebook. I have gone to settings and run the Troubleshooter - no help. Run various commands and downloaded an app to find the Product Key etc. All to no avail.
    Are Microsoft trying to get me to pay for an upgrade or buy Windows 365? Even Word and Excel will no longer open.
    Running Windows 10 version 1909.

    You`ll just have to make a phone call, it`s nothing to worry about.

    As far as what I've read there is a Microsoft 365 but mostly Office, not yet a replacement for Windows 10. There is a Windows 10X but aimed for different hardware/style of computer.

    The activation for Office suite and its applications has always been separate from Windows.
