Thank you so much for your reply.

I mean... very simply... give up trying to recover your Windows installation and

    start again...

    Clean Install Windows 10

    New installation.

And back up back up .... back up.... back up... using Macrium Reflect.

Google Macrium Reflect and disk imaging if you have no idea about backups and disk imaging, and how having a copy of your whole Windows installation on a separate disk means you can recover from bad situations.

If you follow the tutorial you will use the MS media creation tool to create a bootable drive to install Win 10.

To boot your laptop from that you have to set the boot priority in your BIOS so it looks first for your USB to boot from.

MSI will have instructions on how to do that. Usually there is a particular key you press during the boot: sometimes you even get a prompt on the screen. This varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

    Google can help.

Remember to extract anything you need from your system disk (data, license information if you have that recorded, emails, favourites...) that you don't already have backed up before you start.

The clean install procedure requires you to delete all partitions comprising your existing Windows- 4 for a UEFI installation, fewer for a MBR one. (See tutorial around step 13/14).

Note that a clean install of Win 10 is to unallocated space on the drive.

    Well done!

No, driver update tools are NOT recommended for routine use.

Now, please make sure you start using disk imaging as early as you can. Here's what I do:

Clean install/create account/ install Macrium reflect (free).
Get a large enough USB3 external disk - say 1Tb.
    a. Create my first image, and a backup job I can use next time. Make a note that I have done so in a simple text file.
    b. Record each change made
    c. At a suitable point, create a differential image, rt clicking on the backup job in Macrium, and clicking to start the differential image.
    d. Repeat (b) (c) until there's a feature update, then start again from (a)
