    Help With Strange Windows 10 Update


    Windows 10 V1909

    Just received notification of the following update waiting to be downloaded and installed: "Apple, Inc. - USBDevice - 5/7/2018 12:00:00 AM - 423.36"

    The date is what throws me... 2018?? This is an original Windows 10 installation that has been progressively updated, not a fresh install. I do own an iPhone and iPad but have had no problem to date connecting either to PC so why would I need this update? And why would it arrive 2 years late?

    I see no use for this particular update and don't really want to install it but, with Windows 10's forced updates, seems I have no choice. Can anyone please tell me what this update is all about and why I would be receiving it now rather than back in 2018?

    You can hide individual updates (Win 7 terminology - block) using either an MS feature or one of several WU free 3rd party utilities which also give you complete control of WU. E.g. Sledgehammer, WUMgr... also option 7 here:
