hey i was wondering if we could turn off auto update under services.exe?
or is microsoft one step ahead of the crowd?
also is there a way to delete all updates like one could in older windows versions to get updates working again?
The issue i have is this : Windows 10 Updates fails to install even after multiple attempts. - Windows 10 Forums
ADDITIONAL SUGGESTION THAT WORKED FOR ME!!!! I was as frustrated as everyone here. I followed everything but my service was already running but starting manually. I clicked "RESTART" and the service was restarted but now it says starts "AUTOMATICALLY(DELAYED START)" . Regardless, I went back to updates and clicked "Check For Updates" and everything went through immediately. Solved my problem!

- In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command Prompt, and then tap or click Run as administrator.
- In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, enter the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth- To close the Administrator: Command prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.
- Run Windows Update again.
