    Windows 10 tablet had 1908.

Tablet had just been factory reset. Did a few updates and I noticed it said you can download and install 1909.

Either while downloading or installing I gave it permission to use the micro SD because it asked. Now on restart there's a small window with progression circle saying Please insert the SD card and click OK. I clicked OK and nothing. I popped the SD out and reinserted and nothing.

I am now shutting it down and hoping it will open normally. But in the meantime if anyone has experienced this or has a fix or workaround I'd appreciate it. You know I give our reps every time just for replying. It's the right thing to do.

So it opened normally thankfully. But not done yet. It's still reporting version 1809 smh. Guess time to start Googling for an answer. ":-\\

During the reset, did you agree that the SD card was to be used for the new default location for installed apps?

Have a look here => Windows 10 Apps to an SD Card or USB Drive.

    I hope this helps!

    Hmmm! Page not found on your link. I remember it like it said storage was low and was the SD allowable to continue. I chose yes and it moved on. I don't remember it like it asking for a new default location for programs. However, if that be the case the SD was there and I would have thought it was fine. And update. After force shut down and boot up everything seems fine. The window did not appear asking for SD. But, the clinker is it's still reporting version 1809 and not 1909?? How about that. Time to Google again. lol ";-}

Yeah, that looks like something I want to read. However in the last few moments I tried the 1909 again and it went on to installing relatively quickly. I suspect because it was already in the system. I restarted, I logged in and checked winver and it's stll 1809. So there that is. I'll have to trek on and see what that issue is. Thanks much!

Did I mention that I have a Windows 10 "Tablet" … most of the information being passed here is for pc's. How to apply that to a device that does not have a hard drive sometimes perplexes me.

So where on another post is said that I should do a Clean Install. I've done that on a PC but never on a tablet. I would have thought a factory reset would have been productive but apparently this MPV or whatever on another post says it's usually not enough. Thing is . .

    The reset when swimmingly.
It did some updates just great!
I saw the recommendation that I do the 1909 upgrade.
    It downloaded fine.
I believe it was on the install it might have detected that storage was scarce "but here, you have an SD" . . . I agreed and it went on. Other that a window that said insert the SD (fix: shut down and reboot which came out fine)

But on checking it's still the 1809. I tried installing it again. Very quickly, I guess because it's already present it began to install. Went through to the end, reboot and it's still the 1809 versions.

Seems a bit radical to do a Clean Install. I guess I'll have to Google how to do that on a tablet. But once it does a clean install of Windows then do I have to do a factory reset? smh

I admire you guys that have these answer in your heads, most time. Jack ":-\\

I guess there is no virtue in beating a dead dog here. I am just so put out. Installed works until it thinks space is too scarce. It's offer's drive D:/ (sd card) as an alternative. I select it and it starts and and gives me the same report????

Now I'm looking at how to increase the C: partition with the D: SD card. It's all so confusing. Videos most I can't understand or they go too fast. I notice under disk management there is a volume Unallocated 16gb. That would be perfect but how in the world to add it to C: drive is another language to me. One says use a 3rd party. Another says it can be done with Windows disk management. What I see on the web page instruction is not always what I see on the tablet. Now to add insult the last message I received was something like "This device cannot be upgraded." That's a new one. Not understanding as the one before Nov-19 is there.

Maybe something will pop and I'll get it done. For now it's too much. Thanks All! I think I have "Thanked" Everyone here. Let me know if I haven't. Jack ":-\\
