That step is after he has the box registered on the M$ servers for W10 not for the first upgrade. You did it wrong don't know how the other guy did it but you did yours wrong and need to start from square 1 and that is a activated W7 running on your box and select keep everything. You could also purchase a W10 key your choice.
Im sorry everyone. Im not trying to be a dick. Im hugely appreciative of all of this help. Im just really frustrated. Ive never had problems like this.
OK....so...lets go back to windows 7. From teh ISO I burned, and from activated windows 7, I CANNOT SELECT KEEP NOTHING, but I MUST select 'keep everything'? Think that will work?
Alright...ill give it a go...again. 5th time's a charm?
I had a similar problem. It was solved after many updates (security and importante) were installed. After restart, win10 was activated
If this doesn't work this time, I'm going to have to buy it. I cant sit here for the next week hoping it will update or upgrade or activate or not....ive spent almost a week on this already. Ill just chock it up to being gotten by Microsoft.
Also, if I cannot upgrade directly from windows 7 and my windows 10 iso, I will have to buy it.
Some say I can some say I cant...I don't know.
OH MY GOD. It Worked.
Now a 'reset' will be a 'clean install' at this point, yes?
