Unable to install CUs

No matter what I do I can't install CUs. I'm having the 0x800f0983 error. I tried manually running the update but to no avail, as well as resetting WU components, sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

Reset Windows Update in Windows 10

Already tried that but it didn't work.

Try an in-place upgrade repair install.

Yes. It (chkdsk) took a long time. Sorry, but unless I have no choice I'll try to fix it without doing that.

I tried it (but not after a clean or in-place installs) but unfortunately it didn't work.
