    Windows update not working

My Windows 10 Home Version has been stuck at 1803 for the longest time without being able to move on to the current 1909 version. I have tried:

    1. Windows troubleshooter, of which the same screen appears no matter how many times i have run the program.
    Windows update not working-troubleshooter.png

    2. Unplugging external devices, leaving only keyboard, mouse, monitor.

    3. Going to device manager to update all device drivers.

    4. Deleting past update files using the instructions found here.

.. and I am currently at my wits end. I have the link to the setupact.log and setuperr.log files here as well for reference.

    Thanks in advance!

Hello legend89, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you haven't already, you might see if using the method in the tutorial below to fully reset Windows Update may help.

Thanks for the help. I have tried this, which is similar to step 4 as mentioned above. Nevertheless, I have tried it again, with similar results.

The update always stops at 60% with the following error:

"Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation."

Have you tried upgrading to 1909 version with Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.

Your error log contains a rather common indication:
CONX 0xd0000034 Failed to add user mode driver [%SystemRoot%\system32\DRIVERS\UMDF\uicciso.dll

    Indicative suggestion to follow up:
SOLVED: Trouble updating to 1803 - TechTablets

Running Setupdiag.exe as requested by @zbook should help.

Have you uninstalled any 3rd party security software, disconnected any unnecessary peripherals and checked you have >30Gb free on C: ?

What type of PC is it, how old is it, and is the BIOS up to date?

This kind of did the trick for me.
    Steps taken:
    1. Uninstall IIS
    2. Manually deleted the folders and files in C:\inetpub and C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv
    3. Did a windows update
    4. Reinstalled IIS.

Thanks zbook and dalchina for your help.

    Marked as solved.
