--- I think you are on to something as that install disc might be the source of where HP comes from as it might have been for using it on an HP system.

--- Thank you: The reason I kept asking about that is because I was wondering if the custom build was originally for Windows 7 Pro, Windows 10 Pro or somewhere in between for troubleshooting purposes.

I know you have mentioned you don’t see something as a key issue a few times, but there are times a question will be brought up about an issue is because we can’t see your computer.

Scroll down to the screen with the black background & white letters that represents a Windows 7 OEM key.
See what yours shows so you’ll know what is supposed to show if any double-checking it in the future will make sense for verification.
--- If you run into a similar problem in the future as this thread, could call Microsoft and have them activate your system with the appropriate information that they’ll need to know.

But I have taken up far too much of everyone’s time, it would be nice to find a solution, could be handy to know if such a situation arose again. But to be fair to everyone & especially superfly, whom must have better things to do then spend time fixing my PC via Team Viewer, I have decided to go with a clean install, ( already have a MR image of this ) then slowly install my programs, have made a list of the main ones, then will monitor the activation status etc. Once stable and I am confident will install the remaining less often used programs.

I do thank everyone for their time and effort, pity a solution wasn’t found, will have to remain a mystery....especially as Exaccell is of the belief that it’s time to give up, apparently....

One last thing before I leave this issue

I get a window pop up saying some of my accounts need attention



then it says i am not connected to the internet



then clicjing on retry gets


then it goes through EACH of my MS accounts and asks me to enter the password....did this before, but since then have changed all my passwords



have left out the email address....at the top of the image above...does this for each of my 3 MS email accounts, then at the end it asks for my windows password, saying just one last time, dont have a screenshot of this......does this all seem genuine ? not asking for it to be fixed, just curious

On your accounts need attention, it looks normal to me. You will be asked for your verification code so you can enter it. If you don't know your verication code, you can have a new one sent to your cell phone or an alternate email account I believe.

For verification, now you are saying it isn't activated and Microsoft won't help you?

OK it's good that you are back in business.
Someone else more adept than me can explain it much better than me that it doesn't necessarily mean its recorded by Microsoft.
--- Keep the eBay's vendor information whom you bought that key from as it's possible you might need to call them sometime in the future for an activation problem that comes up.
