Yes, you have - no argument there.

My only concern is that the reason your Surface Pro 4 (and no other RTM machine) got the Feature Update to Windows 10, version 2004 is that your SP4 has inadvertently joined the Insider Release Preview Ring. From everything you have said you do not believe that to be the case, nor do you want your SP4 to be anything other than RTM.

If so, then the best course of action would be to switch the 'Stop getting preview builds' to ON in Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Programme. It will then rejoin the retail release ring as soon as 2004 gets its public launch, probably in about four weeks.

I can't find any statement from Microsoft about any selective early release of 2004 to retail machines, just that it is available to Insiders. There's also a Windows Insider Program for Business, 2004 will be available for them, but only as Insiders.

    Info for IT Pros
Windows Insider Program for Business participants who are running May 2020 Update (also referred to as version 2004) builds from WSUS or in the Slow or Release Preview ring. can now request Microsoft Support. This support offering is intended to help resolve issues with business use case scenarios and is limited to Windows 10 Enterprise and Pro editions customers. If you run into a severe issue that prevents you or other users in your organization from using a device or compromises security or personal data, you can use our online form to request assistance directly from Microsoft Support*—at no cost to you:

"Seekers" are defined by MS as those who click 'check for updates', but so far MS have only said that Insiders will find the 2004 Feature Update that way.

    Microsoft said:
Please note that the May 2020 Update will only get pushed automatically to a subset of Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring at first. Everyone else can manually go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and manually check for updates and choose to install the May 2020 Update.

I'm running 19041.207 on my VM and my daily laptop with no issues - but I just don't seem to ever have many issues.

I cloned my daily laptop to a VM and upgraded that to 19041.207, then used the VM as my 'daily'. No problems, apart from defrag forgetting when it last ran. It only remembers for as long as you stay signed in, after a restart or signing out then back in it says 'Never run'.
