...with the public release following on 21st May. So it's not too late (yet) for 20H1 to follow a similar timetable. Time will tell if the coronavirus will delay this....

And it has begun. The name for 2004 has been confirmed as the 'Windows 10 May 2020 Update' and it is now in the Release Preview ring.

    Microsoft said:
We are now getting the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (20H1) ready for release and releasing Build 19041.207 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring. We believe that Build 19041.207 is the final build and we will continue to improve the overall experience of the May 2020 Update on customers’ PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence.

I misread that as the 10th of May 2020... (!) anyway, we need something to keep us entertained during lockdown.

    Yes indeed.
    And a Metered Connection.
And reading the Windows Updates and Activation forum every day into June.

Not being an Insider, this 'fool' got the ISO for the Release Preview 2004 (19041.207) from UUPDump.

Yes, disk imaging is a boon. I restored the latest Macrium image of my main machine to a VM, then upgraded the VM to 2004. I've been using that VM as my daily machine for the past two days. First impressions? I don't actually see much that has changed, bar Cortana. @TV2 will be please to know that at least two live tiles are still active on my Start, Weather and Photos still do their thing.

Everything just works, quite boring actually

Early days.. didn't 1809 start off quietly? Maybe all will be well this time. How does file explorer search look? Is valid search syntax highlighted? And the new Notepad? PIN in Safe Mode...?

@Bree- you would wisely take due precautions and rush slowly...

Can't get more cautious than running a clone of my main machine as a virtual machine....

...should be plenty of time before an official release towards the end of May to see if it's safe to put on a real machine.
