Then why don't you set up a tenforums poll to find out what sort of difficulty people have experienced with file explorer search in 1909 and what proportion have been affected? (Take into account that some may not use it).

All else is conjecture. Numbers count.

It is a matter that is treated seriously in many articles on the well-known sites that publish them- in just the same way as any signficant update or upgrade-related matter.

I still contend you're over-blowing the issue so we'll agree to disagree and move on.

I followed these steps and it seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the link! I made some image backups and then moved the files to a backup drive and rebooted my pc no problem. Just to be on the safe side I delayed updates for another week. Now I know I'll download the latest versions. Cheers.

You can also let Windows clean out the old left over files from updates (mostly previous ones)

In Windows/File Explorer, right-click on C:\ drive > Properties > Disk Cleanup > Cleanup system files.

I've never had any trouble by selecting every option, then > OK

May take a little while, depending on when, or how often, it was done.

Thanks. I tried this but it didn't erase the pending Windows update files. It did erase 3.8gb(!) of old update files. Nice. I like the extra space. Cheers.
