How do I make windows stop downloading this avolute driver update?

So I already have the option disabled to not allow windows to update drivers via windows update. And it has never been a problem. lately, it has downloaded the attached avolute 1.6.10 driver and it screws up my sound a bunch. I use the UAD driver package a few versions old, and it is version 1.5.10. Needless to say, how can I prevent windows from continually downloading this avolute package after I tell it not to? I keep deleting it, clearing my audio drivers, then redoing the install process, and WU keeps grabbing it. Is there a deeper setting somewhere I can do to stop this?

Hi, whilst it's possible to block (hide) a specific update
Hide or Show Windows Updates in Windows 10

this may be somewhat similar to a problem related to the continual installation of a version of the Nvidia driver- no normal action could stop it.

    This might help:
Prevent Windows Update from Updating Specific Device Driver

It may be that your only option is to take control of Windows Updates and use one of the 3rd party utilities that help Home users in particular. E.g.
Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
    Option 7

    or Sledgehammer for example.

Thanks! It showed up under option one of this link you posted and I was able to block it. Although Im unsure for how long it will stay blocked since the MS description of the utility kept referring to "temporary" blockage.

In recent times, Microsoft settings have just not proven reliable for preventing, delaying or controlling any sort of updates. One of the only proven solutions is option 7 of this link, as previously posted. WAU manager works 100% by selecting the option for software only (no drivers). You can even check for drivers that are available and choose to simply not install them.

    There are several such tools.

I quoted two:Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates in Windows 10
    Option 7
    or Sledgehammer for example.

Updates stay blocked permanently on my Windows 10 Home.

The "wushowhide.diagcab" file cannot be downloaded via the Download button there.

I had success today with this issue, using the tutorial here: Prevent Windows Update from Updating Specific Device Driver
