WU tried to update this EDGE update twice today and failed with error code 0x80240034. System says it's up to date with a subsequent WU check for updates. No great deal as I don't use EDGE. Can't wait to see how the update to v1903 goes this weekend.
VERIFIED SOLUTION:
1. Open Services and Stop Windows Update. Just Stop it. Do not change any other settings.
2. Download and manually install Microsoft Edge Here: »www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
3. Open "Windows Update Settings" PAUSE Windows Updates.
4. Reboot your computer.
5. Un-Pause Windows Updates. It will check for updates again and find no update available For Edge.
You're done - issue fixed.
How To Stop a Service: Click Start, search for Services by typing the word Services, scroll down the list to "Windows Update", right click on in it and select "Stop"
How to Pause Windows Update: Click Start, search for Windows Update Settings, Click "Pause Updates for 7 Days". To Un-Pause, click on "Resume Updates".

To stop the Windows Update service, run the following command via an elevated Command Prompt:
net stop wuauserv

The WU “download and install” link to v.1903 worked perfectly. Just took 3 1/2 hours to run. System is all up to date, so the failed EDGE update is moot.
