W10 Auto Updates: Any Truly Simple Method For Permanently disabling ?

Hi,

Is there any way of cancelling all W10 auto updating, permanently ?

The party who has a W10 pc is totally non-technical, so it would have to be something
Extremely Simple and straightforward. I'm not in their area.

No Registry modifications, etc. Foolproof to do, and truly simple.

Also, it should be permanent, and not the delay only
for another 30 days I've read about.

a. Is there such a method ?

b. Re the latest auto updates; any problems, or relatively smooth ?

Just live with them, or...?

I think option 7 is most suitable for the OP.

Registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv double click "Start" change its value to 4, "Disabled" if u wana run some updates, just set its value to 2, "Automatic" and restart ur pc, run the updates and set it back to 4, "Disabled"

wuauserv = Windows Update Service

Start values:
2 = Automatic: runs at startup
3 = Manual: run when needed
4 = Disabled: never run

Edit: I just noticed you said no registry modifications, why not, they are really simple and 100% safe, theres no way your gona mess up, its really simple, registry modifications make for a guarenteed disable

reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv /v Start /f
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv /v Start /t reg_dword /d 00000004 /f

Enable:
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv /v Start /f
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\wuauserv /v Start /t reg_dword /d 00000002 /f

I just installed WAU MANAGER, and will play with it, and see how it goes.
Install went well.

Sure seems simple enough.

Any caveats, gotchas, or anything in particular
I should perhaps be aware of when setting it up, and using ?

idk much about that tool, since I have ever seen it before, but I did a quick search on it, and it seems perfect for ur needs
