How to fully disable forced M$ update craps

    Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this forum so please forgive my ignorance if this question has been previously answered. I have couple of PC's running Win10 home (1903). I want to fully block and disable all and every forceful updates that idiots at microsoft pushing to my pc's and causing all sorts of problem. I have tried both registry editor and group policy editor with no 100% success.
Is there any way or tool available to help me to put stop to this Microsoft harassment?
Can I modify my local hosts file so that all automated update requested will end up in a black hole? Does anyone know the exact IP addresses and relevant fqdn for the update servers? Does anyone has any ideas how to defeat Microsoft harassment and bully tactics?

    Thanks

I avoid WU - see My scheme for managing WU [my post #73]

You'll see others' suggestions in the same thread - including the Sledgehammer utility by pf100 [the utility was previously called WUMT Wrapper Script].

The main tutorial is at Enable or Disable Windows Update Automatic Updates - TenForumsTutorials

The commands extracted from WUMT Wrapper Script work fine on my Windows Home 1903, on which no updates have been installed automatically.

    Matthew,

Perhaps the OP would like to see a list of your extracted commands.

My preferred commands are available in this .zip file: Matthew's preference.zip
The .zip file contains the "Disable hijackers" script file, which will disable automatic updates and then import a scheduled task of checking for updates. A dialog box will pop up when updates are found, while Windows Defender, if in use, will still be updated automatically in the background. The "Metered or unmetered" script file lets you choose between metered and unmetered connection simply by entering an option number without going through the step-by-step procedure described in this post: Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely

Everything in the script files can be modified to serve your own needs.
Everything done by the script files can be undone at your pleasure.
