I have just upgraded to the above and seems i have lost my ability to stop future windows updates, it seems i can only PAUSE them, have i lost this ability permanently now i have updated to 1903?

Hi, presumably you are referring to having lost the ability to defer feature updates in Settings
This is a known issue and occurs if you had this set, and then upgraded. Quite widely reported: see e.g.

You can still set that using group policy, (which you can also use to set Windows to notify you of updates).
There is a registry fix to restore the Settings option.

Note that if you do set a number of days to defer feature updates or quality updates they will disappear again. Though they won't be visible in the advanced options, they will still be in effect. Until MS fix this bug you'll only be able to see or change them in the registry, or set them back to zero to make the reappear.
