    MRT Update Notification

When I run MRT, a notification pops up per Attachment 1 shown below. The link which shows will download but not install, per Attachment 2. Has anyone else experienced this? I continued running the the "current version" and it ran ok, but I am curious about these instructions which seem to be incomplete or incorrect. BTW No update shows in Windows Update for this either.

I get the same errors but did notice that the download is for the 32-bit/x86 version of Windows. It still should install and run on the 64-bit/x64 version.

I discovered the same as Berton.

Update using MS update catalog - KB890830 Windows 10 & selecting the correct one from the list.

You can keep hold of that link and check it each month.

There have been bugs using the MS download centre for MRT downloads before but this one really does take the biscuit.

The lack of any September update for MRT is unusual but correct [see Remove specific prevalent malware with Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - MSSupport, if you really want to].
    - Perhaps MS have not changed MRT to be able to cope with such a long interval between updates???
So it might actually now just be saying,
It's almost the end of September so where's my bleedin update
    rather than
I have detected the existence of an updated version that you have not bothered installing.
    - I'd hazard the guess that MRT is on its way out soon so MS has taken its eye off the ball.
    - You can also download new versions of MRT directly from that webpage instead if you don't like the MSUpdateCatalog method.

Thanks for responses Berton and Try*3. Think I will just wait for Windows Update to kick in. I have plenty of other protection which I use on demand.
