How To Disable 'Optional Updates' in Windows Update

I was more concerned what these updates were for, looks like they are for the CPU from what I can tell.

--- That makes me think there might be some non-Microsoft items on your PC

For your CPU
Go into Device Manager and post the exact recorded Processors CPU information and let us know what it is.

I have exactly the same problem but with an old Asus Z87 and 4670k chip.
Even on Windows installation and i select to add additional drivers using the DVD you get this stupid choice of chipset drivers that i cannot find any information on. The main Z87 driver name on disc, i search internet and it does not appear anywhere on the Intel site, so makes me dubious to install.

Only had board for 12 months. Drivers seem suspicious. I know for sure its an express chipset and thats all i want. Another thing i dont like is this 'Windows System' update. i cant find any real information on it apart from it having similar file names as the 'Intel Engine Management' driver, which i refuse to install, as I reckon its hidden remote access.

In my device manager, everything is installed apart from this dodgy 'PCi Simple Communication Device' It will go away if Intel Management is installed but Intel dont give any information on it, or what it does. So sod installing that !
I choose what system drivers go on my motherboard, not you Asus, Intel or Windows, its my machine and works fine without it.
Back off manufacturers

This is typical Windows 10 here from my experience.

if it doesn't know what driver is needed, it puts your ID information into some multi language lets get everything, just to make sure it works.
I had this very same problem from Windows 10 installing the wrong chipset drivers. Dont relax for a moment, because before you know it, you'll have the wrong USB, wrong LAN driver, and then, Windows seems absolutely fine with this.
I mean come on, us guys arnt blind ya know hehe

I almost feel like now, if Windows can get away with something without notice, then that is success on their end
