Version 1803 and feature updates deferred by a year

According to this page Windows 10, version 1809 transitioned to broad deployment (Semi-Annual Channel) on 28th March 2019.
I am currently running Windows 10, version 1803 with feature updates deferred by 365 days on one of my computers. This means I shall receive a feature update no sooner than in March 2020. However, the end of service for the version 1803 is planned for 12th November 2019 for non-Enterprise customers.
Does it mean that I am going to run an unsupported system for four months, or is Microsoft going to force update these systems regardless of this setting? Does anyone know?

Yes, you will get you last cumulative update through Windows Update on November 12, 2019. After that date MS will continue to issue CUs for their Enterprise customers. Those can be downloaded as stand-alone updates from the update catalog. https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Home.aspx

If you are lucky, you may be able to install these extended support CUs. If you are unlucky they may refuse to install on non-Enterprise systems. That is certainly the case for the 1507 CUs that are still being issued (and will continue to be issued until October 14, 2025). Those will only install on the Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB edition of 1507.

I will upgrade it likely to the version 1903 in the end, meaning I will skip 1809. I just do not like to upgrade the system that often, doing all the settings and customizations, sometimes even reinstall a few programs, so I postpone the feature updates as much as I can and I will get more time with 1903 till next “needed” feature update. I also do not have good experience with updates as such, so I consider doing a clean installation instead. In the past I had an issue with the sleep mode, as sometimes computer rebooted instead (but really only sometimes, more often than not it went to sleep), I always prayed not to lose unsaved documents when pressing sleep button. I found that other people with different hardware encountered the same issue on the internet at that time. Later I reaIized that I had actually experienced this unexpected beahviour on 1511 (to which I upgraded from Windows 7), than I changed a system drive so I did a clean install of 1607 which never rebooted instead of going to sleep, when I upgraded to 1703 the issue reappeared, 1709 was clean install (do not remember reason why I did it) and again sleep worked fine and 1803 was a clean install too and again no problems. As AddRAM writes above, I also do not want to upgrade immediately when a new version is released as there may be lots of bugs and issues which needs to be fixed and I want a stable system, so no need to rush. Actually, the recent news about latest patches for 1903 (high cpu usage, losing internet connection, … ) lead me to wait a bit more, I have 1903 on one of my laptops and noticed the cpu was at around 40% when idle until I installed the recently released patch that fixed the problem. There are also a few other things that I mind in the version 1903, but I will have to live with that, for example the removed option for setting different brightness levels when a laptop is plugged in the mains and on battery in the power management.

I defer by 6 months. v1809 is OK on all my 2 PCs still on that version.
