Microsoft IME High CPU After Installing September KB4516058

    Hi all,

After installing KB4516058 update on my Windows 10 Home 1803, I get high CPU on Microsoft IME and my language input stops working. I have Chinese input characters installed and it doesn't work anymore.

I've already tried this method (https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/com...?context=10000), but it doesn't solve the problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Found another user with the same problem, looks like this is another botched update

Hi, here's the relevant News thread FYI:
    Cumulative Update KB4516058 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.1006 Sept.10

You should be able to uninstall and then block ('hide') the update so it's not reapplied (see relevant tutorial on hide or show Windows updates).

Notet that 1803 users with PCs deemed compatible are being offered an upgrade to 1903 as 1803 is near end of service life.

You can report this problem using the MS Feedback Hub app (Win key + f).

Quick update, so Microsoft just pushed another update to my system, the same KB4516058 update that was already installed. When I view my update history, the same updates are listed twice.

After the install and reboot, language input is working fine now.

Could be they corrected something. Updated updates are not unknown.

Pushed? Well, this is the service you subscribed to as a Home user. If you want more control, use a 3rd party Windows Update control utility e.g. WUMT/Sledgehammer, or you could get a Pro license...
