System Reserved defrag % climbing after three major 1903 updates

Last three 1903 updates (all three were this latest Tuesday update that I screwed up and had to sys restore), the fixed % (was 10%) system reserved drive, has climbed 1% per update, now at 13%. IMHO, since windows defrag does not defrag this drive it MUST be addressed by MS. I do not believe a third source program or hack should be used since MS is responsible for causing this omission in disk defrag. This problem has been a topic of discussion for quite a while (resulting in many hacks and 3rd party software hacks to 'fix'). As we all know, many of these 'successful' hacks (?) seem to be only effective until the next update Tuesday. Does anyone have any official insight about MS doing anything about this recent and ongoing problem with this fragged drive. Please don't reply by saying this drive doesn't matter (paraphrased from many replies in the many posts here), I want this drive defragged within MS windows. What will happen if this reaches 100%? If it is such a simple thing for third party software/hacks to do the defrag, why can't MS fix it? Or, is it that third party software/hacks doesn't really defrag the drive (just list it as).

I'm not interested in hacking or installing other programs to fix it, just want MS to fix the reserve drive fragging. Thank you!

This old thread explains it pretty good, you can indeed ignore that if it is raising that is fine as that partition is only used for booting and will not have any impact on performance that would ever be noticeable. It is also normally only 100MB big so defraging that makes zero sense. Is yours bigger then 100MB in diskmgmt.msc?

Then tell MS using the Feedback hub - it is in your Start menu.

    Hi Malcolm, Denis

Opened diskmgmt.msc, found that sys res drive 100mb and 64mb free. Weird, but found an extra(?) drive as well?

    PC drives in diskmgmt.msc :

    (C), (D), (E), (Disk 0 partition 3), and that System Reserved. I have 3 SATA HDD's, what is (Disk 0 partition 3)?

I can see that the Sys Res drive is now moot, seeing it is 65% free space (never seen that before), and I will send in a MS feedback query just at a very low priority, but what does that partition drive do and why is it not in disk defrag? It is 526mb, titled Recovery Partition, and empty. In the file system column, it is blank for a file system.

I'll be doing a search to see if I can find anything elsewhere, but this post is open so thought I would also ask here. Thanks for your help folks!! George

    - - - Updated - - -

Found after a yahell search: ( https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...1-cfd58e7340d9 ), then ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...recovery-drive ). I forgot to create a recovery drive (I guess) which is why the partition is empty. Will be doing that high priority that's for sure!

Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction! I'll close this after a couple of days in case I am going in the wrong direction here, and someone wants to correct my interpretation about this issue. George

(EDITED) Submitted a feedback, may never know since I do not have an account. Maybe in the future, I'll win the suggestion lottery and see it in a defrag! George
