Should I update my Windows 10 version into Windows 10 version 1903?

Hello, I'm Abdul Karim Khalifatullah. I have Acer aspire laptop with 4GB installed with Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N3350 @ 1.10 GHz 1.10 GHz. My current Windows version is Windows 10 Version 1803. Should I Upgrade my Windows 10 Version 1803 to Windows 10 version 1903? I'm still scared that my data will be erased after the update from Windows Update.

I prefer to stay 6 moths behind the latest update to give time for MS to iron out bugs. You can easily do this in Pro by deferring feature updates by say 180 days. That would put you on v1809 which I'm using.

You could also install a good backup program like Macrium Reflect Free and make a system backup of your current installation. Then upgrade to v1903 via Windows Update and see if it works for you. If not, you can recover the previous version from the Reflect backup. I would only update to v1903 if offered via Windows Update. If it isn't offered, then this indicates MS consider there is currently an update issue with your PC.

Do you want to say that my data and file will be erased after update?

Probably not but with any Major update there is the possibility
    that something could go wrong.
    Better safe then sorry.
Having a back up (I use Macrium Reflect ) allows me to return to where I was
if something does go wrong .

Make sure you select the 'Create an image of the partitions....' button on the left- this images ALL the partitions Windows is currently using (but not any you've created yourself).

You'll need a 'large enough' external drive - at least, say 2x the used space of what you're imaging, to allow for your base image and then (later) several smaller differential images.

After upgrading you'll need to create a new base image, and then start using MR routinely - differential imaging only with the free version.

I've not seen any reports of data loss upgrading to 1903- but hey, things can go wrong.

    Cumulative Update KB4512941 Windows 10 v1903 build 18362.329 - Aug. 30
    - latest update with an issue and a fix (only affects some people).

Anything could happen as far as MS feature updates are concerned. Some people did lose their files about a year ago. Best to make A Reflect backup of all your system and data partitions.
