    is using sledgehammer safe

i found this post which talks about sledgehammer:-
Sledgehammer - Windows 10 Update Control | Page 62 | My Digital Life Forums

it says that if you do sfc /scannow then you will get errors. that is because sledgehammer has corrupted the files that are responsible for windows updates

however is having those errors safe and you wont get any blue screens of death because of it? i read that version 2.5.6 has caused blue screens of death. what about v2.6.0?

Very little is safe if you use it inappropriately.

i am just planning on running it and then exiting it after it said windows updates is disabled and that's it. i meant that is the way that it works safe and it wont cause any blue screens of death?

2.5.6 was unsafe and it caused blue screens of death. have all the bugs that were in 2.5.6 been corrected and they are not in 2.6.0?

Sledgehammer is merely one means of disabling then manually managing Windows updates. It used to be called WU wrapper script.

I do not use Sledgehammer. See Stop Windows 10 Updates Properly and Completely

If you read through that thread you will see posts by @pf100, the author of Sledgehammer.

then what do you use? i am currently on build 1809 pro. a few days ago i set group policy to notify before download and i deferred feature update for 365 days. doing that has bought me enough time until may 2020. if i want to stay using my current build after may 2020 then what do i do to block 1903 being forced on me? setting internet connection to metered doesnt work because microsoft cheats

I assume that you already know that version 1809 goes out of support in May 2020.
